Alumnae Resources
Once a camper, always a part of the family!
The bond formed at Heart O’ the Hills lasts far beyond summers spent under the Texas sky. Our alumnae are the heart of our camp community, staying connected through lifelong friendships, reunions, and shared traditions.
Many of our campers return year after year, growing from wide-eyed first-timers into confident leaders, and later, cherished alumnae who pass on their love for Heart O’ the Hills to future generations. Whether reminiscing about campfire stories, reconnecting at alumnae events, or introducing a new camper to the magic of Heart O’ the Hills, our alumnae are an essential part of our legacy.
Camperships
A number of Camp Stewart former campers gathered together and decided they wanted to pass along the important and formative camp experience to others who might be less able to afford camp. And so was begun Camp Stewart Family and Friends.
The organization is a small non-profit that serves the purpose of helping kids attend summer camp, and Heart O' the Hills gets to benefit from that. Typically, the awards are limited to a maximum of 20% of tuition. The board wants to be sure that camper families have “buy-in”, some skin in the game.
And once a child has attended, they do their best to sustain support of that child for every subsequent year that assistance is needed.
The fact that Camp Stewart Family and Friends is a 501(c)3 means it's not for profit. Every penny donated to the foundation goes toward camperships. Even bank fees, postage and all other efforts are absorbed by volunteers.
To donate, please mail checks made payable to Camp Stewart Family and Friends to Jane Ragsdale, 2430 Hwy 39, Hunt TX 78024. You may earmark your payment for Heart girls, if you wish!
