Continuity in activities builds lifetime skills, giving a measurable rate of accomplishment outside the camp environment, as well as providing exposure to new and different opportunities. From summer to summer, campers build on skills.

Age-imposed limits are not often placed on activities; activities are structured to meet the size and skills of the participants. Encouragement and praise make it easy for campers to succeed in learning new skills and perfecting old ones.

What do you like
to do for fun?

Maybe you like to swim or play sports or just spend time with your friends. Great News! At Heart O' the Hills you can do all that, and more!

Camper days are fun-filled and action packed! On Opening Day, campers will choose and sign up for their activities. (12 activities, 6 every other day).  Campers will participate in these activities for their entire stay (we call these classes MWF and TTS). Each camper takes nine regular activities from approximately 50 offerings. All campers are encouraged to take swimming, field sports, and riding.

Small activity groups permit individualized instruction, providing maximum oppertunity for each camper to develop skills and confidence. Campers are encouraged to try new activities and not succumb to fear or failure. "Every expert was once a beginner" epitomizes The Heart attitude.
Since this is one of our main goals at camp, we do offer an awards program, recognizing achievement in that activity.  Once a camper has completed a task or skill that meets the set criteria, they will earn their award (a patch or a metal). Each activity has its own set of awards and criteria. Awards are given out throughout the session and during the Naming of The Braves Ceremony.

Camp provides all necessary equipment for each activity; however, if a camper has a favorite riding helmet, tennis racket or box that he/she wishes to bring to camp, please feel free to do so!
