What we're looking for:
Our counselors must be clean-cut, "All-American" types. We want healthy, hearty young women whom youngsters will want to emulate; counselors who feel equally comfortable with girls in an active situation, or in a quiet discussion or devotional. We want counselors who set a good example in every way and who believe in working with a team toward a common goal.
A counselor’s daily life:
Counselors live with campers in “tepees” which are air-conditioned cabins and are responsible for all aspects of their campers’ well being. In addition, they teach activities during the day and assist in evening programming through participation.
Our campers are girls, age 6-16. Each girl is asked to take horseback riding (English or western), Red Cross swimming, and field sports. They then pick activities of their own interest, taught by our talented counselors, which include, but are not limited to:
-Canoeing, competitive swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, fishing
-Team sports: volleyball, basketball, soccer, softball, lacrosse, field/floor hockey, dodgeball
- Individual sports: tennis, riflery, archery, fencing, and strengthening/agility
-Pioneering, campcraft, outdoor cooking, rappelling, rock climbing, climbing wall, nature
-Arts & crafts: ceramics, needlework, crocheting, jewelry, leather, drawing & painting
-Dance: jazz, modern, ballet, tap, line dancing, hip hop
- Gymnastics, cheerleading, drill team, flag twirling, kick boxing
-Drama, choir, and instrumental music
- Yearbook, journalism, photography
-Bible study, sewing, cooking, and so many more!
